These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Velverie app and website ("the Service"), operated by Breanna Louise Lancaster ("Velverie", "we", "us", "our"), ABN 34 403 276 869, Victoria, Australia.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Velverie is a romance reader discovery app. It allows you to discover romance books by mood and trope, track your reading across shelves, earn badges, complete reading challenges, and follow authors. Velverie is available on iOS.
You must be at least 17 years old to use Velverie. By using the Service, you confirm that you are 17 or older. Velverie is rated 17+ on the App Store due to the nature of romance content, which may include books with mature themes and varying levels of explicit content.
If you are under 17, you are not permitted to use Velverie.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Use a strong, unique password. Do not share your account credentials with anyone.
You must provide a valid, accurate email address when registering. We may use this email address to contact you about your account or the Service.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Velverie allows you to write reviews and ratings for books. By submitting a review, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the Service.
You are responsible for the content you submit. You agree not to submit content that is abusive, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion.
Velverie offers an optional paid subscription called Velverie Pro. Subscription details:
All subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. You authorise the relevant platform to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Cancellation: You may cancel your Velverie Pro subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
On cancellation or lapse: Your Pro features will revert to the free tier at the end of your billing period. Your data — including shelves, saved mixes, reading history, and badges — is never deleted as a result of subscription cancellation. Saved mixes above the free tier limit and custom shelves above the free tier limit become read-only until you resubscribe.
Velverie and all content within it (including the app design, name, trademarks, and original copy) are owned by Breanna Louise Lancaster. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any content you create and submit within the Service (such as reviews).
Book metadata, descriptions, and cover images are sourced from third-party providers. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee that all information is complete or up to date.
Velverie may include affiliate links to purchase books through third-party retailers. These links will be clearly labelled. The inclusion of affiliate links does not influence our recommendations.
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account. On deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This action cannot be undone.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Velverie is not responsible for the content of books recommended through the app. Recommendations are generated based on your stated preferences and trope/mood data.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Velverie's liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or A$50, whichever is greater.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
